Oscar | Looking for Love

Oscar was in a home since 1996 until he was brought to HUA in September of 2005.
His person loved him deeply, but eventually was not able to exercise him properly. Perhaps in an attempt to make up for this, his person gave him too many treats and did not adjust his diet. He is obviously extremely over weight. We think, in a sad way, this demonstrates how much his person loved him.

Initially, Oscar was very sad over the loss of his home. But he has adjusted to his new temporary life at HUA. He seems to look for the good in life. He’s become an outgoing, friendly fellow who loves people and other dogs.

Beagles are prone to weight gain and are not for every household. They need regular exercise. They are scent hounds and should never be off a leash unless confined in a fenced yard.
Oscar needs a home where he will be pampered with love and affection, but worked. He needs to be walked, at a pace and distance he can handle. He needs to loose weight gradually. Your veterinarian will help determine an action plan.

Oscar is just a great dog, waiting to be turned into an even greater, happier, healthier dog. He deserves another loving home! A special home.

Oscar has been neutered is current on health care.
