Princess

terrier for adoption Hearts United for AnimalsPrincess is an adorable, loving little terrier girl. She came from a home where the people loved her very much but they did not have time for her. She loves people dearly and is a sensitive little girl. She was devastated to come to the shelter. She loves to lay on her back in a persons arms and have her tummy and chest rubbed. She is the prettiest, sweetest little girl in the world!! She is so devoted. She attaches herself to her people with total adoration. She is one smart cookie. She thinks she is the police with other dogs. If they are doing something not likely appreciated by the humans she will be the first to tell on them, nudge them with her nose, squeal around about the illegal activity going on. Otherwise, she does fine with other dogs at the shelter. She is good with house manners and could learn just about anything a person wants to teach her. She is a grand little dog.
Princess is a female terrier. She was born in June of 2004 and weighs 15 pounds.

Cookie

Cookie lived at a daycare center where he was terrorized by young children. He did not care for the constant attention of children who were not careful with him. When he came to the shelter he was very afraid and let people know that he did not want to be touched. After just a few days in the more quiet environment of the dog shelter, where people speak to him nicely and treat him gently, he has become a different dog. He is so grateful for a nice quiet place where people care how he feels, and what he wants. He adores the people now and is happy and friendly. Cookie will be a great dog for a quiet home. He loves to sit with the people and be petted. He looks longingly into our eyes and loves laying on warm, soft blankets and having his head gently stroked. He also likes to play now too.
Cookie is a male terrier mix. He was born in January of 2003 and weighs 22 pounds.

Mayella

Mayella is such a great girl!! She is so amusing, just full of pure Dachshund charm. She gave birth to 3 beautiful pups at Christmas time.

She's not letting that slow her down though. She loves to investigate things in her foster home and get attention from the people when she's not tending to her child care duties. She is a great mom and a very fun girl! She will adore having a home of her very own with people to love and entertain with her silly ways.
Mayella is a red smooth female Dachshund. She was born 9/12/04. She will be ready for adoption once her pups are weaned and ok to be on their own in the world.

Famous Amos

Amos has had some hard luck, but he's not letting it get him down. He was left at a city pound in O'Neill, Nebraska after being given up by his people because they didn't have time for him.

The people there adored Amos, but he just wasn't getting adopted. So they contacted beagle rescue, who in turn contacted us. Amos loves his big play yard and his doggie roommates here at HUA.

He adores the people who care for him and especially loves his trips to the big community play yards where there are all kinds of fun things for a diligent beagle boy to sniff out!! Amos is welcome to stay here for however long it takes to find him the perfect home. At HUA there are no time limits on making a good match, our residents have nothing to fear.

They know that the best is yet to come! Amos is playful, loving, just a peach of a young fellow. He has good house manners. We nick named him 'Famous Amos' because he loves cookies. He will be a devoted, adoring lifelong friend.

Amos is a male beagle. He weighs approximately 30 pounds and was estimated in November of 2006 to be between one and two years of age.
